Sunday, January 15 Ryan
Harrison leads the service on Martin Luther King, Jr.
Martin Luther King Day has been a national holiday for less than a
generation. Today, Ryan Harrison will
figuratively and literally step into the role of one of the morally and
historically significant characters of a plural world. Come for a civil rights focused service led
by our very own RE leader.

Luck Supper and Yankee Swap
at All Souls
Church Parish Hall
Saturday,
January 28 at 6 PM
For
the potluck supper: Bring something you like to eat … enough for
yourself and two or three other people.
An ingredient list is helpful in case of food allergies
For
the Yankee Swap: Did you get a
little something for Christmas that someone else would LOVE (but you don’t?) Never
re-gifted? C’mon, you know you want
to!
Bring a small, wrapped gift (worth $5 to $10, no more) new or
new-to-you to be exchanged. Children
should also bring an age-appropriate gift item so they can participate in the
swap.
Gourmet Chocolate Night
All
Souls Church will host a Gourmet
Chocolate Night on Saturday,
February 11, (changed from February 4) featuring singing by Purely
Vocals. Last year, attendees feasted on
chocolate delights and were entertained by this four-woman a cappella
ensemble that has been engaging audiences with the sheer joy of the musical
moment since 2001. Our own Vicki
Silberstein is a member of Purely Vocals. Visit their website at www.purelyvocals.com
Tickets
are $12 in advance; $15 at the door that night.
Help make our Gourmet
Chocolate Night a Sweet Success!
In addition to telling your
friends and family about this fun event, we need volunteers to bake and donate
the special chocolate delicacies of their choice. A
signup sheet will be posted in the Parish Hall requesting ‘chocolatiers’
(donators of fabulous chocolate desserts) as well as workers to make the event
a sweet success. We hope that
some of you will use Fair Trade chocolate in your baked goods.
Volunteers are needed on Saturday, February 11th at the
following times:
1 to 3 PM Set Up the Parish Hall
5:30
to 7 PM Set Up the Food
7:00

Font to use less ink when printing
The font in this
paragraph, ecofont vera sans, has little ‘holes’ in the letters to save on ink
… 20% less ink than some traditional fonts, unbolded. It is not easy reading onscreen for
‘crispness’, but you might want to try it out for things you print … I found
the holes barely noticeable in printed items at 12 pt and that is the
point … to save ink. Here is the
font ENLARGED
Printed at 12pt, it looks pretty good. I found it on fonts101.com … no virus in the
download. ~ Maggy
